Vitamar 1000 contains highly purified ethyl esterified omega-3 fatty acids. Each capsule (1020 mg) provides 600 mg eicosapentaenoic acid (as E-EPA) and 300 mg docosahexaenoic acid (as E-DHA), fulfilling the daily requirements of omega-3s in many health conditions. Particularly, omega-3 supplementation supports cardiovascular health by improving triglycerides level and blood pressure. EPA and DHA support good cognitive and behavioral function, and have been shown to improve eye ailments such as dry eyes and age-related eye conditions.
During pregnancy, adequate consumption of omega-3 especially DHA is highly recommended for proper brain and eye development in the growing foetus. One Vitamar 1000 capsule meets the daily DHA requirement for pregnancy.
Products containing less concentrated omega-3 have higher proportion of non-omega-3 components which include saturated fatty acids. These may result in higher intake of oxidized fats and calorie intake, especially with larger doses consumed.
Ethyl esterified fish oil concentrate used in Vitamar 1000 capsules is manufactured under strict quality control standards. It is tested to be free of potentially harmful levels of contaminants (i.e. mercury, heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins, and other contaminants).
