Jonolit is a powder used for the preparation of an oral rehydration solution. It replenishes electrolytes loss in states of dehydration in children over 3 years of age and adults. Jonolit is formulated based on European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) recommendations, with reduced osmolarity and sodium content. Replenishes sodium, potassium, chloride, citrate ions and glucose. 
 
Ingredients: Glucose, Sodium citrate, Sodium chloride, Potassium chloride, Strawberry flavor with other natural flavors, Silicon dioxide, Steviol glycosides
 
Each 1 sachet (200mL solution) contains:
Sodium                276 mg (60 mmol/L)
Potassium          157 mg (20 mmol/L)
Chloride              355 mg (50 mmol/L)
Citrate                  379 mg (10 mmol/L)
Glucose                  3.78 g (105 mmol/L)
 
Solution osmolarity:  245 mOsm/ L
 
Dosage: 
Usual dosing: Consume 50-100mL per kg of body weight of the prepared solution over the first 4 hours in small portions. This is to be followed by 100-200mL for each subsequent loose stool or vomiting. Adjust the volume depending on the degree of dehydration.
 
Preparation:
Dissolve the content of each sachet in 200 mL of cooled boiled water. The liquid should be consumed within 24 hours after preparation.
 
Contraindications:
Blood in the stool, poor renal function, haemodynamic shock and intestinal obstruction.
 
Storage: 
Store at room temperature in a dry and dark place.
