silicol®gel is also available in travel-friendy 15 mL sachets.

silicol®gel contains silicic acid which is a compound of the mineral substance silicon and oxygen in a colloidal (highly dispersable) and hydrated form.

Silicon is the second most abundant element on Earth, after oxygen. It is found in nature as silicon dioxide and in the hydrated or aqueous form as silicic acid.

Gastrointestinal disorders are usually caused by irritants and by harmful and toxic substances as well as pathogens.

When taken internally, silicol®gel coats the stomach and intestines with a protective layer. Due to the adsorptive or binding properties of colloidal silicic acid, it physically adsorbs or binds with most irritants and harmful and toxic substances as well as pathogens. silicol®gel can also bind gases (which can reduce flatulence and bloat) and reduce excess acidity.

Substances bound to silicol®gel is rendered harmless and are removed naturally through the intestines and out of the body.

  • Shake the bottle well before every use.
  • For adults and children 12 years and older: Take 15 mL three times daily an hour before meals. silicol®gel can be taken either undiluted or diluted with water.
  • Take silicol®gel with a gap of at least 1 hour before or after the intake of medicines.

After acute symptoms ease, treatment with silicol®gel can continue for another few days.  silicol®gel also allevitates similar symptoms in the gastrointestinal tract that may occur due to a change in diet during travel or on holiday.

If acute symptoms worsen or have not reduced after three days, consult a doctor.

With diarrhoea, it is necessary to replace lost fluids. In chronic disorders, treat for up to 4 weeks followed by a break of between 4 to 7 days. This provides an opportunity to check that symptoms have settled which may indeed reduce the need to take silicol®gel as frequently.

*silicol®gel should be used in children under 12, pregnant or nursing women following medical advice.
